Welcome to our first North Texas Giving Day!
We didn't mean to become a nonprofit.
We didn't even mean to start a business of any kind.
It just sort of happened…
My family was already going on field trips on Fridays…
Then my kids asked, "Where are all the other kids?"
It wasn't just about the field trip. My kids wanted friends to share it with.
So I made a post on Facebook.
900 families joined the group in the first 24 hours.
We went on our first trip together, and something clicked. Families kept showing up. Kids kept asking when the next one was.
Then the messages started coming in, quietly, in the background:
"I want my child to go, but we can't afford it."
That's the moment Field Trip Fridays became something bigger than a group of families exploring together. We became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we built a fund so that no child would sit out because of their family's budget.
Today, our Field Trips for All financial assistance program has served over 700 children based in Dallas/Fort Worth. This month (August 2026), we expanded that support to families in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, reaching kids across Texas who deserve the chance to explore.
And we need your help to keep going.
This is our first North Texas Giving Day, and we've set a modest goal: $1,000.
Every dollar goes straight to a child discovering a new passion, walking through a door that might otherwise have stayed closed. A museum they'd never have seen. A hands-on science exhibit.
A day that reminds them how big and interesting the world is.

Through subsidized field trips and barrier-free programming, we ensure economic circumstances never limit a child's access to real-world education that builds curiosity, confidence, and community connections.
We believe that access to extraordinary learning experiences should not depend on a family's income. Our Field Trips for All financial assistance program subsidizes participation costs for lower-income families, ensuring that every child in our community can show up and experience the same quality of learning as everyone else. No family is turned away because of cost.
