The Faithful Giving Project was founded by Kendra Eakles in 2025, inspired by a simple act of compassion on Thanksgiving Day in 2022. After preparing an abundance of food for a family gathering, Kendra and her partner packaged the leftovers and distributed hot meals to unhoused neighbors in South Dallas. What began as a small act of kindness quickly grew into a community movement. In 2023, the team assembled 50 care packages filled with toiletries, warm items, and snacks. By 2024, community support helped expand that number to 150 packages including more essential items. As of 2025, the Faithful Giving Project distributed 300 care packages— each filled with items like socks, gloves, blankets, toiletries, non-perishable food, words of encouragement combined with hot packaged meals sponsored by Chick-Fil-A.

Today, the Faithful Giving Project continues to grow through its annual Thanksgiving Donation Drive and quarterly outreach events—promoting wellness, providing essential resources, and building a stronger, more connected Dallas community.

Giving Activity

Mission

The Faithful Giving Project exists to provide essential resources and support to underserved individuals and families in the Dallas community through faith-driven acts of service and giving, promoting safety, physical and mental well-being, and building a strong, connected community.

Needs

Faithful Giving Project is committed to meeting practical needs and creating meaningful community impact across Southern Dallas through initiatives focused on homelessness, women, children, and wellness. Our greatest current need is funding to support transportation and storage needs that allow us to successfully collect, organize, transport, and distribute resources for our community events and philanthropic efforts, along with administrative costs necessary to sustain and grow our organization’s impact.

Funding raised through North Texas Giving Day will directly support our Thanksgiving Donation Drive, which provides care packages and essential resources to individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as year-round initiatives serving women and children through basic needs assistance, mental wellness support, physical wellness support, and community-centered programming.

Every contribution helps us turn compassion into action—providing essential resources today while building stronger, healthier communities for tomorrow.

Equity Statement

At Faithful Giving Project, we believe every person should have access to resources, support systems, and opportunities that help individuals and communities thrive. We are committed to reducing barriers and increasing accessibility for those who can benefit from resources and services in areas that are often overlooked or underfunded. We recognize that well-being extends beyond basic needs and includes physical, emotional, mental, and community wellness. Through our programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts, we strive to connect individuals with meaningful resources and wellness opportunities that support the whole person. We are dedicated to ensuring our services, volunteer efforts, and community initiatives reflect compassion, accessibility, inclusivity, and care. We seek to provide free, accessible resources and support opportunities annually across our areas of impact, including homelessness, women’s initiatives, children’s initiatives, and community wellness. We will continue learning, listening, and strengthening our efforts to serve our community with integrity and purpose.
