Equines for the Front Lines brings horses and veterans together. Time with horses may ease the challenges of PTSD by improving sleep, reducing anxiety, creating confidence, and providing a sense of peace. Any veteran, regardless of the conflict or circumstances, is welcome to participate. There is no charge, no obligation, and no prior horse experience needed.Â
Peer-to-peer support Sometimes veterans need to connect with other people âwho understand.â The shared experience of veterans is a powerful bond. Through our train the trainer program, veterans learn to teach lessons and activities, as well as provide moral and physical support to other veterans.
Equines for the Front Lines provides a sanctuary where âThank you for your serviceâ is sincere. It offers an environment of safety and relaxation in a small group setting. Veterans participate in a variety of activities and experiences with the horses. The program includes time for fellowship with other veterans, horsemanship presentations, and hands-on demonstrations. Veterans work with the horses on the ground and in the saddle. Off-site trips to local equine professionals and facilities provide additional experiences.

This year, with the help of @homedepotfoundation, we were able to complete a new riding arena for the veterans! The final aspect of the arena is to add lighting so we can continue lessons into the evening this winter when the time changes. And remember, with the matching grant from Starr Construction, every dollar we raise will be matched up to $2,000!
