Empower the Voice provides culturally relevant, bilingual programs that help parents and students build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and connections needed to make informed decisions about life after high school. We bring families together with schools, colleges, employers, and trusted community partners, turning complex systems into clear and achievable pathways.
Through family engagement workshops, college and career readiness programs, financial aid and scholarship education, career exploration, mentorship, and student support, families learn how to take action at every stage of the journey. Parents become informed advocates, while students identify their strengths, explore postsecondary options, and prepare for college, careers, and other opportunities that can lead to economic mobility.
Our work also develops future leaders. Volunteer, internship, and community engagement opportunities allow students, parents, and community members to strengthen their professional skills, build valuable networks, and use their experiences to support others.
Since our founding, we have served more than 2,800 participants and partnered with over 350 families as they guide their students toward college and other postsecondary opportunities. This work creates multigenerational impact by strengthening families, expanding access to education, and preparing a more diverse and inclusive North Texas workforce.

Our mission is to empower Hispanic families to support student success by understanding college and career pathways early.
Empower the Voice is seeking to raise $10,000 to support 30 Hispanic high school seniors in our College Bound program. These funds will provide personalized guidance through the college application process, including essay writing, FAFSA support, and one-on-one mentorship.
Financial Needs
$4,000 – Scholarships to support students during their transition to college, including housing deposits, enrollment fees, and other essentials.
$1,500 – Stipends for experienced college essay advisors and writing coaches who provide personalized, one-on-one support to students.
$2,000 – Transportation and logistical support for college tours, ensuring students can visit campuses and envision their future.
$1,500 – Program coordination and volunteer training to ensure a high-quality, organized experience for both students and mentors.
$500 – Meals and snacks during in-person workshops to help create a welcoming and focused environment.
$500 – Printing and supplies for college planning guides, reflection journals, and workshop materials.

At Empower the Voice, we believe that a mother’s dream for her child should never be lost in translation. Yet across Dallas County, Hispanic and Spanish-speaking families continue to face language, cultural, and systemic barriers that limit their access to information, trusted guidance, and meaningful participation in their children’s education.
These barriers are too often misinterpreted as a lack of interest, reinforcing the harmful myth of the “uninvolved parent.” In reality, parents who are still learning English, work jobs without flexible hours, or are unfamiliar with the U.S. education system are deeply committed to their children’s success. When they are excluded from critical information and decisions, their children may lose essential support in navigating college and career pathways, perpetuating inequities in education and opportunity.
Empower the Voice is committed to ensuring that Hispanic and Spanish-speaking families have equitable access to the knowledge, relationships, and opportunities they need to advocate for their children’s futures. We place mothers—key influencers in their families and communities—at the center, not only as participants but as leaders whose experiences shape solutions and inform systems.
We envision a future in which language, culture, income, and work schedules never determine a family’s ability to participate in a child’s education—and where families are recognized as essential partners in every decision shaping their children’s future.
