The Ellis County Homeless Coalition is a community group of volunteers dedicated to raising awareness of and preventing homelessness, and advocating for affordable housing in Ellis County.
We exist to spearhead the fight against homelessness in Ellis County. We have made it our mission to come alongside the other non-profits in our county to equip citizens with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and set them up for a better tomorrow. We strive to be advocates within our county to make housing more affordable. We want to see people rise above their circumstances and watch homelessness become a rarity in Ellis County.
Funds to help those in need with rental/utility assistance to avoid eviction, affordable housing deposits/first month rent, food, bus tickets, clothing, gas, rides to medical appointments/job interviews, obtaining ID.
We believe that all people no matter what race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, zip code, health and ability status, or any other consideration, have equal and inviolable dignity, value, and opportunity to participate justly, fairly, and fully in all dimensions of civic and economic life, to succeed, and to achieve their full potential.
