CFT's Educate Texas

A nonprofit organization

Educate Texas, an initiative of Communities Foundation of Texas, is the trusted change agent in education that is thinking bigger by proving solutions through programs and practices, instilling change through policy, and convening the right partnerships and networks for action. Educate Texas collaborates with leaders across the state to ensure all Texas students, especially African-American, Latino, and economically disadvantaged students, earn a college degree or credential that leads to a living wage and thriving communities.

Mission

As a trusted change agent, we increase academic achievement and educational equity by leading programs, policy and partnerships.

Needs

A donation to Educate Texas is an investment in momentum. To achieve our goals, we're focusing on a statewide portfolio of work in four key impact areas: college and career readiness, effective teaching, higher education, and collective impact regions. We must grow our impact through programs, policy, and partnerships to achieve our vision for all Texas students, especially first generation, minority or low-income students, to graduate high school and earn a college degree, certificate or technical credential enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute to building thriving communities.

Equity Statement

Communities Foundation of Texas is committed to advancing equity as one of our three strategic priorities to fulfill our mission and achieve our vision.

As your community foundation, our vision is of a community where every person has the opportunity to thrive. Our mission is to improve the lives of all people in our community, and we recognize that there are groups that have historically faced and continue to experience discrimination, injustice, and unequal access to basic resources, community spaces, and economic opportunities.

CFT believes that all community members:

• should feel welcome, safe, and accepted.

• should be treated with respect and dignity.

• should have equitable access to opportunities to improve their lives and the lives of their families.

We are dedicated to both working internally with our staff and culture and learning and leading externally with partners across our community to create thriving communities for all.
