Divas Read 2 Inc.

1. We fundamentally believe that the ability to read transforms lives and changes outcomes for children, women and communities. We want every child and adult to experience the joy and power of becoming a lifelong reader, and we are focused on this mission.

2. We know that service and volunteerism work. We mobilize and intentionally nurture our community to make a difference.

3. We encourage, appreciate and celebrate each other. We embrace joy, diversity and laughter in our work as an all volunteer organization.

Our Needs

DR2 will be sponsoring several reading and literary programs. Our goal is to provide books, door prizes and gift bags to attendees. Such events as our Tween/Teen Vision Board Party will require us to provide supplies. At our Get Caught Reading event we would like to provide books from the featured Author to kids whose parents are not able to afford them. We will host a reading event for teen boys on life lessons and would like to purchase books for them. We are in need of securing a location and resources for our Annual Book to Movie event, Books & Brunch for women, and other educational events. Our future reading program, Bee-A-Reader 2 will focus on providing tutoring for elementary students who are below their required reading level.
