Our Purpose

Destiny’s Giving Hand Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) Organization. We provide services and education for child victims of abuse or neglect. We believe our ordained purpose from God, is to help children, youth, and young adults who have endured traumatic experiences by the hands of others. We uplift and prepare youth for independent living and adulthood through solution-focused models. We provide a layer of community support to guide youth towards living a healthy and abundant life. 

DGHI was established in 2017 and has helped over 2,000 children and youth, including youth in Texas foster care. To fulfill our purpose, we are constantly in need of donation of goods, & monetary contributions. 

We are a community partner of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and Lincoln High School, both located in the underserved community of South Dallas. Our Resource Closet, housed at the MLK Jr. Community Center, helps Dallas and surrounding areas weekly.

Our Mission

Destiny’s Giving Hand Incorporated is a community Organization whose sole mission is to educate, advocate, mentor, and support youth and young adults who have experienced abuse.

We....

- Educate the community about signs of abuse and neglect to prevent cruel, unusual, and unnecessary harm to children

- Equip youth & young adults to be successful in life through positive leadership examples- Provide mentorship & advocacy programs to reduce trauma or re-traumatization of victims

- Provide community resources for children and youth to empower and promote healthy family relationships and structure

- Provide ongoing support for youth transitioning into young adulthood

Needs

We are currently partnering with Lincoln High School in South Dallas for the 2023-2024 school year. We are opening a Resource Closet for students called “Tiger Avenue” where scholars will have access to hygiene & essentials needed in their home environment. We are in need of toiletries, cleaning and sanitation items, feminine products, youth undergarments, and school supplies to keep Tiger Avenue stocked for the school year.

We are launching our PREVAIL Career Preparation Program (CPP) designed for High School seniors who will not attend a 4-year university and who have opted to attend a local community college, tech school, or work full-time after high school. Our program equips scholars with a resume, cover letter, interview portfolio, and headshot at the time of graduation in preparation to secure employment. PREVAIL will teach scholars how to apply for jobs, interview etiquette, and will provide one year of free career coaching after graduation as a means of long-term support.
