Dallas Environmental Science Academy (DESA) offers a stimulating, hands-on educational program for middle school students. The curriculum prepares students in core competencies that are directly correlated with college and workforce readiness. These include critical thinking and problem solving, data analysis, initiative, collaboration and teamwork, presentation skills, imagination and curiosity, and leadership.
The curriculum is enriched with real-world applications and field experiences. Students participate in engineering engagements and other academic competitions, and work with environmental agents.

At Dallas Environmental Science Academy, our mission is to foster a dynamic and enriching educational environment where every student thrives and excels.
🧺 Uniform Donation Closet – Help us keep our donation closet stocked with clean, brand new uniforms so every DESA student has what they need to meet dress code requirements.
📚 Classroom & Educational Support – From books and basic supplies to specific scientific equipment, PTSA steps in to provide items not covered by the district. For example, the PTSA is helping fund an outdoor learning lab, with a greenhouse, weather and compost station, and hydroponics system to give hands on experience to the next generation of environmental scientists!
🎭 Academic & Extracurricular Advancement – When classes like theater and cheer or STEM teams advance to UIL or other competitions, PTSA helps with expenses DISD doesn’t cover. Last year, DESA's UIL Academic team advanced to State Competition with PTSA supporting the travel and expenses to San Antonio.
🚌 Field Trips – DESA Students are offered incredible opportunities locally and statewide and PTSA wants to help fill in the financial gaps so all students can participate.
💼 Professional Development & Office Needs – We support both our students and staff. Whether it’s office furniture, professional training, or supplies, we’re here to back our educators.
🍽️ Teacher Meals & Appreciation – We recognize how hard our teachers work and always want to show our gratitude through meals and tokens of appreciation throughout the year.
