$95,000 Goal

For more than a decade, I have used my platform to help provide access to the resources underserved students and families need to overcome barriers to reaching their full

potential. Giving back to young people is my passion because I know first-hand the impact that can be made when you invest in youth. I became a professional boxer and world-renowned boxing trainer because I received support from a network of individuals, and organizations, that were committed to increasing the odds for at-risk kids.

In 2023, I launched the Derrick James Family Foundation to give disenfranchised youth and families a fighting chance at a successful future. Our programs are designed to knock out obstacles that limit opportunities in the areas of education, health and wellness, sports, and financial stability. The goals are big. But I believe collectively, we can make a significant impact.

I would like to invite you to support our mission to help inner-city youth thrive by contributing to the foundation or designating funds to a specific program outlined below. All donations, no matter the amount, will assist in changing lives forever.

❖ Annual Back to School Drive - Community based outreach providing essential items for hundreds of students and teachers for the new school year. In 2023,

the Derrick James Family Foundation provided 250 students in Dallas with backpacks and cleared teachers' wish lists for essential supplies for their classrooms.

❖ Holiday Giving - Donations to the foundation will be utilized to alleviate the stress and financial burden of low-income families and the elderly by purchasing

holiday gifts and essential household necessities. A special effort will be made to help select households purchase or repair home appliances.

❖ Mental Health Matters: The foundation will work with community partners to provide mental health/wellness resources and events for youth. Plans are underway to host a mental health awareness event for males at O.W. Holmes Middle School in Dallas, Texas this October.

❖ Community Center Capital Campaign: Funding will support the long-term vision to construct a multipurpose facility offering a continuum of comprehensive resources and programs such as a computer lab, gym, basketball courts, counseling area, swimming pool and more.

Thank you in advance for considering supporting the Derrick James Family Foundation. I am excited about all that WE will accomplish by uniting for youth in North Texas! I would love for you to join me and contribute to the Derrick James Family Foundation via North Texas Giving Day to reach our goal of $90,000. North Texas Giving Day is an online giving campaign to raise funds to support the missions of thousands of nonprofits across the region. The campaign runs now through September 21st. You can make your gift online through the North Texas Giving Day website.
