SAVING DENTON AREA ANIMALS SINCE 2006
The Denton Animal Support Foundation (DASF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation, improving companion animal welfare, and saving more pets in Denton and surrounding communities.
We are not an animal shelter or rescue — our mission goes beyond helping one pet at a time.
Through community-based programs such as an emergency pet food pantry, low-cost vaccine clinics, and spay/neuter assistance, DASF helps pets before they ever reach a shelter, reducing shelter intake. We also support the Denton Animal Shelter through Adoption Subsidies, helping harder-to-place pets find loving homes more quickly. These intake diversion efforts create a lasting impact across the community, strengthening the regional animal welfare system and giving more pets a chance at a healthy, happy life.
As Denton County grows, local shelters and rescues face unprecedented strain. Unplanned litters, financial hardships, and limited access to affordable veterinary care are leaving more pets at risk than ever. The mission of the Denton Animal Support Foundation is to save more Denton area animals. We accomplish this by focusing on the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center (City of Denton Animal Shelter), and the Denton community. The strategic goal is to ultimately save more Denton area animals through adoption and prevention of abandonment.
As Denton’s population grows, so does the need for DASF’s vital programs and partnerships with local nonprofits serving at-risk communities. Through intake diversion initiatives like pet food assistance, low-cost veterinary care, and spay/neuter support, we help ease the burden on local shelters and rescues.

DASF Shelter Endowment Donors (https://dentonasf.com/shelter-endowment-fund): The Shelter Endowment Fund is a permanently restricted fund providing critical support for pet programs, equipment, and facility needs for the City of Denton Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center in perpetuity. Contributions to the Endowment Fund can effectively last forever, as distributions to the shelter are made from investment/ interest earnings on the Fund’s accumulated donations. By generating revenue in perpetuity, the Endowment Fund helps the shelter remain state-of-the-art, funding specific needs and programs that are not included in the City budget.
