Produced by the Denton Festival Foundation, the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival was created out of the belief that music and art should be available to the public free of charge. The event started as Spring Fling in 1980 and merged with Denton Jazz Fest in 1990 to produce the first ever Denton Arts & Jazz Festival in 1991. Since that time it has grown into one of the largest events of it's kind in North Texas and has become Denton's signature event featuring six stages of continuous music, juried arts, crafts and food booths and activities for the entire family.
The festival showcases and celebrates the arts and music, highlighting local, regional and national musicians, artists and performers and inspires appreciation for the diverse musical genres and visual arts. Additionally, our event reinforces Denton's reputation as a creative and music-rich community while engaging residents in community pride and cultural participation. A true community event with over 25,000 man-hours go into planning and production each year.

To plan, promote and produce the annual Denton Arts & Jazz Festival that is free for the public to attend. The festival nurtures the study and promotion of the performing and visual arts in a multi-disciplined, educational and culturally diverse format, representing the originality, creative energy and spirit of giving and sharing through music and the arts.

We believe that art and music should be free and available for everyone, regardless of background, identity or means. Our programming celebrates diverse genres and performers - from local youth, college students to regional and national professionals. We actively support emerging talent and community engagement through carefully curated artist showcases, juried art booths and dedicated children's activities. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every individual feels seen, heard and valued. - and where creativity thrives across cultural, generational and socioeconomic boundaries.
