Mission

The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance the Decatur Public Library by pursuing and accepting gifts, grants, and endowments consistent with its designation under the Internal Revenue Code as a 501©(3) corporation, to benefit library service in the community.

Decatur Public Library’s mission is to enrich the lives of the community by being a strong community partner and empowering citizens through equal opportunity to high quality education, literature, technology, and collaborative experiences in a welcoming, community-centered facility.
