The Dallas Education Foundation is the designated philanthropic partner of the Dallas Independent School District, the 16th-largest public school district in the nation and the second-largest in Texas, serving ~142,000 preK-12th grade students in 240 schools across 384 square miles. With 86% of its students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, the District has infinite needs in and beyond the classroom. Despite these challenges, Dallas ISD continues to make significant gains and is, per the Council of Great City Schools, one of the fastest improving public school districts in the country.
