About Dallas Bible Theological Institute

Since 1943, Dallas Bible Theological Institute (DBTI) has been equipping leaders for ministry, mission, and marketplace impact—especially within historically underserved communities. As one of the oldest theological institutions founded by and for African American churches in Texas, DBTI remains committed to accessible, Bible-centered education that empowers students to serve with excellence and integrity. Your support on North Texas Giving Day helps us train the next generation of pastors, teachers, and community leaders by providing scholarships, strengthening academic programs, and expanding our reach both locally and globally. Together, we can preserve a powerful legacy of faith and equip servant-leaders for today’s world and tomorrow’s challenges.

Giving Activity

Mission

Dallas Bible Theological Institute exists to equip servant-leaders through sound biblical teaching, spiritual formation, and practical ministry training—empowering them to impact the Church and the world for Christ. Rooted in a legacy of faith and perseverance, we are committed to making theological education accessible, relevant, and transformative for every generation.

Needs

To continue our mission of equipping leaders and advancing the Gospel, Dallas Bible Theological Institute seeks your support in these key areas:

Student Scholarships – Many of our students serve in under-resourced communities and rely on financial aid to pursue their theological education. Your gift helps remove financial barriers and opens doors for ministry impact.

Technology Upgrades – We are expanding online and hybrid learning options to reach students locally and globally. Donations help fund essential tech tools, classroom equipment, and digital resources.

Facility Improvements – To better serve our students and host community events, we aim to renovate our office for safety, accessibility, and long-term sustainability.

Faculty Development – Supporting ongoing training and recruitment of biblically grounded, culturally competent instructors ensures academic excellence and spiritual growth for our students.

Every gift—large or small—helps us preserve a rich legacy of theological education and prepare future leaders to serve with wisdom, passion, and purpose.

Equity Statement

At Dallas Bible Theological Institute, we affirm the God-given dignity, worth, and calling of every person. Rooted in the truth that all people are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and redeemed through Christ, we are committed to fostering an environment of equity, access, and belonging for all.

Since our founding in 1943 to serve students excluded from theological education due to racial discrimination, we have upheld a legacy of justice, opportunity, and empowerment. We intentionally welcome students from diverse backgrounds—across race, ethnicity, gender, age, and economic status—equipping them to lead and serve in every context with humility, courage, and excellence.

We believe that diversity enriches theological learning, strengthens the Church, and reflects the Kingdom of God. In this spirit, we strive to break down barriers, invest in underserved communities, and prepare leaders who champion reconciliation, equity, and Gospel hope in the world.
