Dallas Service Forum, Inc.

Dallas Service Forum (DSF), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1977, is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization of women dedicated to providing services and financial support to children, families and the elderly throughout the Dallas area.

There are several excellent non-profit agencies that share Dallas Service Forum's mission of supporting the elderly, youths, and children - - particularly those who are victims of crime, domestic violence or illness. These agencies offer their clients excellent facilities and trained staff, but they do NOT have sufficient staffing to meet all of their clients' needs. This is where the volunteers of Dallas Service Forum are able to fill the gaps between agencies' resources and clients' needs with both tactical volunteer support and in-kind donations of food, emergency toiletries, school supplies, and comforting toys. Dallas Service Forum also provides grants to Greater Dallas-area agencies whose missions align with our own. We are proud to support our partner agencies: Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, The Ebby House, The Family Place, Hope's Door New Beginnings Center, Juliette Fowler Communities, Network of Community Services and Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

In the 2025 -2026 fiscal year Dallas Service Forum contributed to our partner agencies:

over 10,000 uncompensated volunteer hours;
awarded over $65,000 in grants and funding, and
provided more than 6,500 meals for families and seniors.

As we begin to celebrate our 50th anniversary of serving the greater Dallas community, we are grateful for the continued support of our donors, volunteers, and non-profit Agency Partners. Our 50-year milestone is more than a celebration of our history; it is a testament to the caring people who have generously supported and believed in our mission of serving with compassion and dedication.

Mission

Service From the Heart: Build a Community of Volunteers to serve Dallas area Youth, Families and Elderly

Needs

Dallas Service Forum has three programs to address the needs of our partner agencies:

Nourish to Flourish - Providing nourishing meals to families of hospitalized children and those affected by domestic abuse. DSF provides meals for clients at 6 of our partner agencies.

Golden Friendships - Cherishing and cheering elders with activities, treats, and personal relationships. DSF members hold monthly bingo parties at Juliette Fowler along with parties at Christmas and other special occasions. We also provide lunches for senior citizens through the Network for Community Ministries.

At Your Service - Providing volunteers to meet other agency needs when help is needed. DSF provides volunteers for special agency needs like the Ronald McDonald House trains at Northpark, Hospitality Carts at Medical City Children's Hospital, and the DCAC Crimes Against Children Conference.

The majority of those we serve are children and youth. Over 6,500 meals are prepared annually and served by DSF volunteers. DSF is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. We are 100% dedicated to serving those in need throughout the Dallas area.

$75 provides 12 homemade meals for children, families and seniors. DSF provides meals to over 600 clients each year.

$125 provides emergency toiletries and clothing to someone fleeing domestic abuse. Clients frequently arrive at a shelter with only the clothes on their back.

$175 provides 10 birthday bags to child victims of crime at Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. This helps the children begin their healing process.

$500 provides funds for emergency needs of our partner agencies throughout the year.

For nearly 50 years Dallas Service Forum has built a community of volunteers serving Dallas area youth, families, and elderly. We are an all-volunteer organization of women from diverse backgrounds who share a common mission of Service from the Heart. In serving youth, families and elderly we strive to improve their lives with programs tailored to their needs. Our organization allows each member to bring her unique qualities to DSF and assist in meeting the ever changing needs of the growing Dallas community.
