The Dallas Cooperative Preschool is a parent-led, play-based preschool where families have been learning alongside their children for generations.

In 1951, a group of North Dallas families decided that the best preschool experience wasn't one where parents dropped their kids off and waited outside — it was one where families were part of it. They built a school around that idea. 

Seventy-five years later, we're still here.

Still small.
Still affordable.
Still doing it the same way.

That's not an accident. It's a choice we make every single year — and it's only possible because of people like you.

We are not a typical preschool.

We are a cooperative. 

That means parents don't just drop off their kids — they come in. 

Once a month, each family spends a morning in the classroom: playing with the kids, helping with snack, watching their child lead the class on their Serving Day. 

It's real participation, not just a sign-up sheet. 

And it changes everything — the relationships between families, the connection between parents and teachers, the way children experience school when they see their family there beside them.

Our teachers are extraordinary.

Miss Jill, our Director, has been at the Co-Op for 20 years.

Our little's teacher, Miss Maggie attended the Co-Op as a child. 

And many of the teachers have had children of their own attend over the years.

This is that kind of place.

Why we need your help.

We have made a deliberate choice to keep enrollment small — about 30 students — and tuition among the most affordable of any comparable preschool in Dallas. We believe every family deserves access to an extraordinary early childhood experience, not just families who can pay a high price it.

That commitment comes at a cost. Tuition alone doesn't cover it.

NTX Giving Day is one of the most important days of our year — and your gift directly funds what tuition can't:

• New and maintained playground equipment
• Classroom supplies, art materials, and enrichment programs
• Teacher development and support
• Student outings and community experiences
• The financial reserves that keep our doors open year after year
