Founded in 2018 by conductor Jung-Moo Lee and a collective of passionate musicians, the Dallas Asian Winds (DAW) is a distinguished wind ensemble rooted in the heart of the DFW Metroplex.

Artistry and Community Engagement

The Dallas Asian Winds is comprised of exceptional musicians from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to artistic excellence and heritage. We believe in the power of music to inspire the next generation. Beyond the stage, DAW actively engages with the North Texas community by providing vital platforms for aspiring musicians through our Young Artist Concerto Competition and annual chamber recitals.

Since its inception, the ensemble has achieved significant regional and international milestones, including:

* 2019: K-Pop Together Festival

* 2020: Invited to the Sungnam International Wind Festival (South Korea)

* 2023: International Hanyang University Alumni Night (Tyler, Texas)

* 2024: Featured performance at the International Trombone Festival

The ensemble’s primary mission is to celebrate and promote the richness of Asian culture through the transformative power of music. From vibrant Lunar New Year extravaganzas to immersive cinema-themed concerts, Dallas Asian Winds has garnered widespread acclaim for delivering high-quality performances that bridge the gap between East and West. Our repertoire spans timeless classical masterpieces, innovative modern compositions, and beloved Asian folk melodies.

A hallmark of our annual season is the Lunar New Year Festival at NorthPark Center. As a featured ensemble for this premier cultural celebration, we take pride in bringing the spirit of the New Year to life for thousands of North Texas residents through our signature performances.
