Giving Activity

Mission

Dallas Area Parkinson Society (DAPS) is dedicated to impacting and improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson's disease. Exercise and speech classes are offered throughout North Texas and virtually. Additionally, DAPS offers support groups and educational programs at no cost to participants.

Needs

In 2025, DAPS has made it a priority to expand and enrich exercise opportunities for our neighbors living with Parkinson’s disease across North Texas. Over the past year, we’ve introduced new, evidence-based programs like Dance for PD® and Non-Contact Boxing in Dallas—both proven to improve mobility, balance, and overall well-being for those with PD.

Thanks to generous donors like you, DAPS now offers over 20 weekly classes, tailored to meet individuals wherever they are in their Parkinson’s journey. Whether someone is newly diagnosed or managing advanced symptoms, we have a class designed to support their physical and emotional health.

💙 Your donation makes this possible. Every dollar helps keep these life-changing programs free of charge for all participants. Together, we can ensure that no one faces Parkinson’s alone—and that everyone has access to the tools they need to thrive.

Equity Statement

We, the Dallas Area Parkinson Society (DAPS), believe that embracing diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices is crucial for creating, sustaining, and building strong organizations. We are committed to promoting inclusion and equity across all areas of our organization, including programming, employment, and community outreach. By doing so, we aim to reach the diverse demographics affected by Parkinson's disease in North Texas.

DAPS does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
