 Valencia Harvey, Co-founder & CEO of Creative Collaborations for Arts Education, returned home to Pleasant Grove (75227) in 2021 after a decade in higher education as a college student, educator, and student affairs administrator across the country. 

Co-founder, Dr. Chinwe Oriji, has committed over 15 years in both academic and nonprofit capacities to see youth thrive. She believes arts education changes lives one person at a time. 

Creative Collaborations for Arts Education empowers educators through arts education in Pleasant Grove. 

Pleasant Grove is the bedrock of Black and Brown hard-working families. 75227 is an ideal location for capital investments and educational innovation that will change the quality of life in Pleasant Grove, for generations to come. 

Mission

Creative Collaborations for Arts Education offers free educational support services such as curriculum writing, professional learning, socio-emotional pedagogy, guest lectures, and archival research for education institutions (primary through higher education), as well as nonprofits that offer out-of-school youth services and arts education.

Needs

1) Funding for staff and daily operations

2) Funding for marketing, education software, communication technologies, and learning materials for partner needs

3) Funding for arts equipment for trainings

As BIPOC Women and Veteran Affiliated leaders, we know art is a creative tool to harness greatness from of all teachers and students no matter their background. We envision arts education as a vehicle to break down systemic barriers towards a more equitable tomorrow, for generations to come. Each tap of a drum, movement to the rhythm, and strum of a guitar shatters inequity and gives 75227 access to the artist within at the tip of their hands to the soles of their feet.
