- Shelly Sender, Head of School
The Compass School of Texas is an independent co-ed school in Dallas, Texas currently serving Pre-K through 4th grade with plans to expand to 8th grade. The campus is expanding and your generous contributions provide crucial funding needed for operations and growth. Please join us in impacting families for generations to come!
Dallas has seen unprecedented population growth and Compass is committed to expanding the campus to educate more students.
Compass values inquiry-based learning, academic excellence, and bringing real-world experiences into the classroom to help students draw connections between what they are learning and how they can impact their communities and ultimately the world.
Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Mission
The Compass School of Texas equips students with a strong academic foundation that fosters analytical thinking, instills the joy of learning in a wholesome environment, and inspires the pursuit of purpose.
Vision
We believe in inquiry-based learning, academic excellence, and bringing real-world experiences into the classroom to help students draw connections between what they are learning and how they can impact their communities and ultimately the world. Our vision is to grow the School to serve students in Pre-K-8th grade.
Core Values
Rooted in five core values—community, family, leadership, purpose, and resilience—The Compass School of Texas provides a strong academic foundation. Through hands-on experiences in nature, we encourage social and emotional growth, analytical thinking, and intellectual curiosity. Parent partnership is essential, and we are committed to positively impacting families for generations to come.
Support Compass' Growing Community
Compass started with 43 students in 2023 and we have 102 students this fall. The campus is expanding and the School launched the True North Capital Campaign. Your support will go directly to the School's operational expenses and curricular needs to advance the mission and vision. Some of our priority areas include:
Financial Literacy: This is an important life skill that we teach our students. Math provides a foundation essential to innovation and Compass provides a multi-disciplinary approach to learning math.
STEM Curriculum: Our campus is a living lab that students use to explore as they apply scientific reasoning to the natural world.
Farm-to-Table, Health, and Wellness Programs: Students plant, harvest and cook healthy foods that offer quality nutrition that helps them focus better in and outside of the classrooms. We have an annual Farmer's Market and provide handmade products for our community members.
Fireside Chats: Compass is dedicated to empowering community members through education and raising awareness about essential programs and concepts for which we passionately advocate. We focus on crucial topics such as brain development, Compass' core values: community, family, leadership, purpose and resilience, as well as the transformative power of education, and the importance of being a lifelong learner.
The Compass School of Texas admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
