A child runs through the Soccer field, laughing so hard with her volunteer partner she can barely kick the ball back. For most kids, that's just a Tuesday afternoon. For a child with a disability, it might be the only extracurricular activity built just for them.
Community Connections Texas exists to change that. We provide free sports, arts, and social programs — yoga, art, music therapy, tennis, ACTS Jr Theatre, pickleball, fencing, soccer, social clubs, and more — for children with special needs and their families across North Texas. We've served over 600 families and are growing every season.
This Fall, we're hoping to reach 250 donors — because every gift, at every level, helps a child with disabilities get the extracurricular childhood every kid deserves. (Our goal is $15,000 — see below for what your gift can do.)
Our Needs
- $25 covers art supplies for one child for a full semester
- $50 covers a month of music therapy sessions for one child
- $100 sponsors a child's spot in an 8-week sports program
- $500 provides a recreational experience for one participant for an entire "spring/summer" or "summer/fall semester"
- $2500 provides a Community Connections T-Shirt to every participant through the year
- $5000 funds ACTS Jr Theatre for a semester, including rentals, stipends, insurance and more
- Program Directors (volunteer or stipend pay) to lead new activity groups
- Volunteers to help a participant in a program
