Mission

Community Healing And Mental Health Project (CHAMP) is dedicated to fostering a community where conversations about mental health are encouraged, resources are easily accessible, and prioritizing healing takes center stage. Our commitment lies in advocating for change, dismantling stigma, and actively promoting healing within black and brown communities.

Needs

Expansion of Counseling Services: We aim to serve 100 youth and young adults with free short-term counseling. To better support their mental health needs, we plan to expand our counseling sessions from 5 to 8 sessions per individual.

Mobile Mental Wellness Unit Retrofit: We seek support to retrofit our Mobile Mental Wellness Unit to enhance its functionality and capacity. This will enable us to provide more comprehensive and accessible mental health services to underserved communities.

Continuation of Unity Healing Camps: Continued support is essential to offer the unique and transformative experience of the Unity Healing Camps. These camps provide middle school students with valuable life skills, mental health support, and enriching activities that foster personal growth and resilience.

Equity Statement

At CHAMP, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where every individual has access to the support and resources they need to thrive. We recognize the systemic barriers that disproportionately affect marginalized communities, particularly Black and Brown youth, and we are dedicated to addressing these disparities through our programs and services.
