Community Healing And Mental Health Project (CHAMP) was founded to honor the life of Atatiana Jefferson and to address the urgent need for mental wellness support in Fort Worth communities most impacted by trauma, poverty, and violence. Since becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2021, CHAMP has provided free short-term counseling sessions, Unity Healing Camps for middle school students, and Community Conversations that dismantle stigma and build resilience. Through innovative programs like the CHAMP Mobile Mental Wellness Unit, which brings counseling, group services, and even virtual reality experiences directly into neighborhoods, CHAMP is breaking down barriers to care. We proudly serve zip codes with the lowest life expectancy in Texas, fostering healing, empowerment, and brighter futures for youth, families, and communities across North Texas.
