Mission. The mission of the Collaborative Arts of Plano is to establish Plano as a diverse cultural and inclusive arts destination through collaboration, promotion, and advocacy.
Vision. The vision of the Collaborative Arts of Plano is to provide opportunities for Plano's diverse arts and cultural organizations, artists, and patrons to collaborate on arts and cultural events to benefit the Plano community.
The Collaborative Arts of Plano ("CAP") received its tax exempt status in October 2023. The CAP meets on the second Friday of the month at the ArtCentre of Plano at 9 a.m. Meetings are open to the general public.
Member organizations include the major arts organizations headquartered in Plano. Membership is open to nonprofit arts organizations, dance/music/piano studios, artists, whose headquarters are in Plano, Texas. Contact president@collaborativeartsofplano.org for more info.
Programs include:
- Member meetings on the second Friday of the month at the ArtCentre of Plano. Members have opportunities to collaborate to create cultural and arts activities which will benefit the residents of Plano and North Texas.
- Celebrate Plano Arts: An annual event which features performances, exhibits, and art activities of Plano's major arts groups. The next Celebrate Plano will be August 2025.
- North Texas Carnival of the Arts: Saturday, April 11, 2026 at The Shops at Willow Bend. Featuring over forty - two vendors, this free, family friendly event features hands on art activities, visual arts demonstrations, magicians, dance, theatre, music and health and wellness. Join a one day choir and sing a medley of Disney songs, enter the North Texas Talent Got Talent contest with over $1,000 in prize money, learn basic stage combat, join in for a Flash Mob, Hula Hoop contest, facepainting, watercolor bubble painting, performances, sculpture, Heritage Fashion Show, anime art and more. Shop for jewelry, handmade pottery, painting, home decor, and jewelry. Made possible by The Shops at Willow Bend and Chaired by North Texas Performing Arts.
- State of Plano Arts - Held each year in January/February, this event features of panel of speakers and provides opportunities for the community to interact with arts, education, and community leaders.

North Texas Carnival of the Arts on Saturday, April 11, 2026: donations will be used to underwrite guest artists, marketing, and supplies for this family friendly free arts festival at The Shops of Willow Bend. Anticipated need: $8,000.
Celebrate Plano Arts: Saturday, August 11, 2026: a one day celebration of arts in Plano featuring performances, art exhibits, and free art activities for children at the Courtyard Theatre. Donations will be used to underwrite the cost of the venue and marketing the event. Anticipated need: $3,500.
