Code Red Animal Project was created in response to the overwhelming number of dogs euthanized in DFW shelters simply due to space. We’re a passionate, action-driven team focused on saving deaf and “last call” dogs when time is running out.
We work alongside shelters, fosters, and veterinary partners to give these animals the chance to decompress, heal, and learn what it means to be safe—often for the first time. While urgent dogs are our priority, we never ignore an animal in need.
More than a rescue, we’re a community: committed to education, advocacy, and doing the work it takes to turn “last call” into second chances.
Code Red Animal Project saves the dogs most likely to be left behind: last-call shelter dogs facing euthanasia, deaf and special-needs dogs, seniors, injured dogs, and dogs requiring medical or behavioral rehabilitation.
Our greatest needs are lifesaving veterinary care, heartworm treatment, professional training, safe kennel housing, food and daily supplies, foster-family support, and transportation to foster and adoptive homes. Because we place no time limit on the dogs in our care, we also need ongoing support for those whose journey to adoption takes a little longer.
