Claws & Toe Beans came about after spending a number of years volunteering for rescues and personally rescuing animals in need. We realized that (1) our area is a rescue desert and we have very few resources relative to the need in this and surrounding areas, and (2) our community is awesome at opening their hearts and homes when animals are in need. We decided that we can help support this amazing community and fill in gaps where we can to support needs in our area.

Mission: We use a network of specialists and volunteers to improve conditions for local companion and wild animals and to provide temporary assistance with urgent needs so that animals have the best possible chance available at rehabilitation, release, or appropriate placement.

Vision: All companion and wild animals in need will be provided for with minimal delay by the compassionate action of a connected community.

Objectives:

  1. create and maintain a network of companion and wild animal rescuers, rehabilitators, veterinarians, officers, donors, and volunteers;

  2. use the network mentioned above to respond quickly to the needs of companion and wild animals and provide temporary assistance or safety to the animal until the most appropriate resources needed for the animal can be arranged;

  3. assist with local Trap, Neuter/Spay, Vaccinate, Release (TNVR) programs including veterinary care when the need is identified, and other local programs that improve conditions for local companion and wild animals;

  4. provide information and education to local residents, prospective adopters, social media followers, and through partnerships where it benefits companion and wild animals; and

  5. use the network mentioned above to support local efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and rehome or release companion or wild animals in need.

Mission

We use a network of specialists and volunteers to improve conditions for local companion and wild animals and to provide temporary assistance with urgent needs so that animals have the best possible chance available at rehabilitation, release, or appropriate placement.

Needs

Our rescue provides a number of services depending on the need in the community. This includes pulling animals from the shelter to avoid euthanasia, helping strays in rural areas where there are no services, TNVR for community cats, etc. We are currently expending most of our energy on direct rescue to fill gaps where other rescues and shelters are full. Thus, our needs are cat and dog food, cat litter, general care supplies, and monetary donations to help cover veterinary expenses, spay/neuter, emergency and specialist care (e.g., HW treatment, ophthalmologists, emergency stabilization). Please donate through any of our fundraisers, website, or you can call our vet and put money on our account to help cover vetting and testing costs. Our veterinary clinic is Northside Animal Clinic in Cleburne, TX.
