For more than 50 years, Christian Community Action (CCA) has walked alongside individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult moments, offering more than help for today. We help create a path forward.
Compelled by the love of Jesus Christ, CCA meets people where they are and surrounds them with the support they need to move from crisis to stability to independence. Through nutritious food, housing and financial assistance, case management, counseling, career and financial coaching, and other personalized services, we care for the whole person and help families build a stronger foundation for the future.
But CCA’s impact is about more than programs or numbers. It is about people. It is about someone walking into CCA during a season of uncertainty and discovering that they are not alone. It is about receiving food today while also finding the encouragement, resources, and support needed to take the next step forward. And it is about stories of transformation like Cynthia’s, where a difficult chapter does not have to define what comes next.
What began more than five decades ago with seven people collecting canned food for one family has grown into a community of neighbors helping neighbors throughout North Texas. Yet the heart of our work remains the same: see the person, meet the need, walk alongside them, and offer hope.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Christian Community Action ministers to the poor by providing comprehensive services that alleviate suffering, bring hope and change lives.
The need in our community continues to grow. Rising costs for housing, utilities, groceries, and other basic necessities are stretching family budgets and leaving more of our neighbors facing difficult choices about how to make ends meet.
At Christian Community Action, we believe meeting an immediate need is only the beginning. Families may first come to CCA needing food, help keeping their utilities on, or support remaining safely housed. From there, we walk alongside them with personalized support designed to help them move from crisis to stability to independence.
The challenge is that the need continues to outpace the resources available. Every day, families in our community are facing circumstances that can quickly turn a setback into a crisis.
