Canine Companions is leading the industry and providing service dogs to children, adults and veterans with disabilities free of charge. Our dogs and all follow-up services are provided at no cost to our clients. Clients come to Canine Companions because of our reputation, the quality of our dogs, the experience of our training staff and the desire to lead life with greater independence.

Supported solely by donations, Canine Companions can continue to provide:

  • Service dogs placed with:
    o Adults with physical or auditory disabilities.
    o Children with physical or cognitive disabilities aged five or older or adults with physical or cognitive disabilities who require the assistance of a facilitator such as a parent, caregiver or spouse.
    o Veterans with a physical or auditory disability or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  • Facility dogs placed with:
    o Professionals working in a health care, criminal justice, or educational setting.

Canine Companions service dogs and facility dogs are expertly trained in more than 45 skills to provide enhanced independence and confidence. There are more than 450 people waiting for a service dog - help make these matches possible.

Founded in 1975, Canine Companions is a national non-profit organization that enhances the lives of children, adults and veterans with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs, free of charge, and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
