Cane Rosso Rescue is a foster based dog rescue organization founded in 2015 to help homeless dogs in need throughout Texas. Our organization rescues dogs at risk of euthanasia from high kill shelters, dogs who have been abandoned on the streets and those who can no longer stay at their homes. We partner with many other rescues throughout Texas for transports of dogs in to our rescue program and find them loving homes. We primarily focus on sporting breeds and sporting breed mixes, although our "no pup left behind" approach does mean the odd non sporting breed sneaks in - and we are just fine with that. All our pups receive full vet care including spay or neuter, vaccinations, deworming, flea medications, heart-worm treatment and other medical care as needed. We do not shy away from "difficult" cases, such as dogs with major medical conditions, or severe injuries and most recently have counted dogs with blindness, cancer, orthopedic needs and, would you believe, even gunshot wounds, among our rescue family.
Your donation goes directly towards helping our dogs get the best start they can to live a new life. Our intake is dependent on our funding and foster homes, so the more funding we can raise, the more dogs we can rescue, and for that we need you!
Our Mission at Cane Rosso Rescue
At Cane Rosso Rescue, our mission is simple but powerful: to give abandoned, neglected, and at-risk dogs the second chance they deserve. Too many dogs find themselves in overcrowded, high-kill shelters or struggling to survive on the streets. We step in to make sure their story doesn’t end there.
Since our founding in 2014 by Jay Jerrier—owner of Cane Rosso and Zoli’s NY Pizza Tavern—our rescue has been a passionate force for change in the Dallas community. Inspired by the life-saving journey of Walter, a Vizsla mix who sparked it all, Cane Rosso Rescue has gone on to help more than 1700 dogs (and counting!) find loving forever homes.
We can’t do this work alone. Every foster, adopter, and volunteer who joins us becomes part of our mission to transform lives—one wagging tail at a time.
Cane Rosso Rescue is a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Together, we are hope. Together, we are second chances. Together, we are rescue.
At Cane Rosso Rescue we do not discriminate on any basis. Our mission is to find the best companion home for the individual dog and we treat all applications on an equal basis.
