Mission

Needs

Breaking Down Barriers is currently seeking financial support to expand aviation workforce development opportunities for underserved and underrepresented students throughout Southern Dallas and Dallas County. Our greatest needs include funding for flight training, simulator operations and technology, student outreach programming, workforce development initiatives, mentorship programming, and community engagement events that introduce students to high-wage aviation careers.

As demand for our programming continues to grow, we are also seeking strategic community and industry partnerships that help us increase access, expand student capacity, and create stronger career pathways into aviation. Support from donors and partners directly impacts our ability to provide life-changing opportunities that lead to economic mobility, increased representation in aviation, and long-term community transformation.

Equity Statement

Breaking Down Barriers is committed to expanding access to aviation and workforce development opportunities for students and communities that have historically been underrepresented in the aviation industry. We believe talent, potential, and leadership exist in every community, regardless of socioeconomic background, race, gender, or access to resources.

Our mission is centered on removing financial, educational, and social barriers that limit opportunity by providing funding, mentorship, exposure, and career pathways into high-wage aviation professions. We strive to create an inclusive environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue careers they may have once believed were out of reach.

Through intentional outreach, community partnerships, and workforce development programming, we are committed to building greater representation within aviation while helping create stronger pathways toward economic mobility, leadership development, and generational impact for the communities we serve.
