At BrainCharge, we are dedicated to caring for caregivers.

In the United States :

1.5 million people: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of death and disability among children and young adults in the United States. Each year an estimated 1.5 million Americans sustain a TBI. [Source: CDC]

200,000 people : More than 200,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with a brain tumor each year. [Source: Cleveland Clinic]

6 million people More than 6 million people in the US are living with Alzheimer’s. [Source:  Alzheimer's Association]

26% of the population An estimated 26% of Americans ages 18 and older -- about 1 in 4 adults -- suffers from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. [Source: Johns Hopkins Medicine]

All of them need care. Most of them rely on a family caregiver. A caregiver is a person who provides direct care (as for children, elderly people, or the chronically ill).  Often the responsibility of caregiving falls to an unpaid family member or loved one.


Mission

Serving the community of caregivers who are supporting individuals impacted by brain-related trauma, injury, or illness.

Needs

Your contribution will go directly to support caregiver relief and BrainCharge self-care programs, such as:

$15 - Movie Night, provide a caregiver with a movie ticket

$25 - Book Club, provide a caregiver book(s) to participate in the BrainCharge book club

$40 - Painting Classes, provide art supplies for a caregiver to attend a virtual / live painting course

$50 - Meal, provide a caregiver a meal voucher / food delivery

$100 - Spa Day, provide a caregiver some well-deserved pampering

$150 - Staycation, provide a caregiver a night off at a hotel for some rest

$200 - Home Cleaning, provide a caregiver with a clean space

$500 - Caregiver Outing, sponsor an event for 10-25 caregivers i.e. bowling night, museum, theater, dinner
