BIG BOOM BASH
0 DONORS
It all began with a compassionate heart and a simple act of kindness—giving toys to children who might otherwise miss out on the magic of the holidays. Inspired by his own childhood, when he received gifts from his local church and the Salvation Army, David Garcia felt a deep desire to pass that same joy along.
What started as a small toy collection among friends quickly grew. In 2015, the first toy drive was held at Mexi-Go restaurant in Plano, supporting three local families. By 2018, a generous $500 donation brought the mission to life and marked the beginning of a lasting tradition.
Each year, the drive expanded—reaching at least ten more families annually. In 2021, David and his family transformed that toy drive into a full-scale annual gala. With 80 attendees and a $15,000 gift from then, Mayor George Fuller, the event became a source of joy for even more families—sparking a ripple effect of kindness that continues to grow.
Today, Boomerang Cares is a year-round force for good. Rooted in Collin County and in close partnership with local ISDs, we step in when families face life’s hardest moments—offering kindness, guidance, and practical support.
Whether it’s groceries for a struggling parent, a laptop for a student in need, or graduation essentials for a senior ready to walk the stage, we respond with open hearts and lasting care.
At the core of everything we do is our Circle of Good—a belief that every act of generosity sets off a chain reaction. When we help one student, we lift a whole family. When that family thrives, they’re empowered to help others. It’s kindness that moves in a circle—touching lives, inspiring change, and always coming back around.
From scholarships and school supplies to emergency aid and empowerment, Boomerang Cares creates impact that’s local, personal, and lasting. Because no family should face hardship alone.
This isn’t just a nonprofit. It’s a movement powered by compassion, built on community, and driven by the belief that love, once given, returns even stronger. This is Boomerang Cares—where help, hope, and heart come full circle.
To bring kindness, guidance, and support full circle. In close connection with Collin County ISDs, we walk alongside families facing life’s toughest moments — offering help, hope, and a community that cares.
This North Texas Giving Day, your gift to Boomerang Cares will bring holiday joy to Collin County students and families through our annual Toy Drive — providing toys, festive meals, and gift cards for those who need it most. Together, we can ensure every child experiences the magic of the season and every parent feels the comfort of knowing their community cares. Every dollar you give goes straight to making the holidays brighter — one act of kindness at a time.
At Boomerang Cares, we believe every person deserves the chance to thrive — no matter their background, identity, or circumstances. Our commitment to equity means creating an inclusive community where everyone has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed. We recognize that systemic barriers often stand in the way, especially for marginalized groups, and we work tirelessly to remove those obstacles through our programs and partnerships. By embracing diversity and fostering equity, we empower individuals and families to reach their full potential so that everyone in Collin County can share in the hope, help, and opportunities we create together.
