Beyond the Ball was created by Erica Molett, an African-American mother and CEO in Dallas, TX. She wanted to ensure her son saw limitless potential for his future – both on and off the court. Often dreams of becoming the next Kobe Bryant or LeBron James distract students from placing a higher priority on their academic journey and career pursuits. Nearly 45 million children play organized sports each year, yet less than 2% will play professionally.
So… what about the 98%?

Technology: Beyond the Ball seeks to expand our virtual learning and events platform - Big Life Dreams - to integrate a gamified metaverse . Through tech, we will reach more students with educational and entertaining content for self-guided learning, in scalable and cost-effective ways.
Curriculum Design: We will recruit more educators to support the development of interactive STEM curriculum contextualized through sports, packaged in a multimedia STEM in Sports toolkit. This toolkit will be accessible to schools, community partners and families - including train-the-trainer resources, skills training videos, and STEM lessons.
