A LEGACY OF COURAGE. A FOUNDATION OF HOPE.

The Ben Hogan Foundation was created in 2007 to carry forward the legacy of one of golf’s greatest champions — not only for what he accomplished on the course, but for how he overcame what life put in his path.

Ben Hogan lost his father at a young age and went to work as a golf caddy to help support his family. He battled poverty, self-doubt, and later survived a nearly fatal car crash that doctors said would end his career. Instead, he came back stronger — fueled by resilience, discipline, and unwavering perseverance.

Today, the Ben Hogan Foundation honors that legacy by empowering young people who are facing adversity of their own — especially those who have lost a parent, are navigating grief, or are simply looking for a way forward.

Through scholarships, mentorship, tournaments, and our newest initiative, the Resilience Program, we provide children and teens with access to mental health support, educational opportunities, and caring adult guidance — all designed to help them heal, grow, and ultimately thrive.

Our work is made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, and grant partners who believe, as we do, that adversity can build strength — and that every young person deserves the chance to discover what’s possible on the other side of hardship.

We don’t just teach perseverance. We invest in it.

Mission

Rooted in the values of integrity, discipline, and perseverance embodied and championed by Ben Hogan, the Ben Hogan Foundation empowers youth to reach their full potential. Through mentorship, scholarships, and programs like the Resilience Program— which supports children grieving the loss of a parent to suicide — we are building futures grounded in strength, compassion, and opportunity.

Needs

Our Greatest Need This Year: Investing in Resilience

The Ben Hogan Foundation exists to empower young people to persevere — especially those facing hardship, trauma, or loss. Inspired by the strength and story of Ben Hogan himself, we invest in scholarships, mentorship, and community programs that help youth overcome adversity and build lasting confidence.

This year, our most urgent need is support for the Resilience Program — a new initiative providing educational scholarships, mental health therapy, and long-term mentorship to youth who have lost a parent to suicide. These children are navigating unimaginable grief, and your support helps restore stability, purpose, and hope during the most vulnerable chapter of their lives.

Your generous donation will help us:

∙Fund scholarships for youth in need

∙Cover therapy costs for children experiencing loss

∙Provide access to mentorship and emotional support

∙Host community events that raise funds and awareness

∙Sustain and grow the Foundation’s impact in Texas

With your help, we can equip the next generation — not only to survive hardship, but to thrive in the face of it.

Join us in building resilience, one young life at a time.

Equity Statement

At the Ben Hogan Foundation, we believe every young person deserves the chance to succeed — regardless of their background, income, race, gender, ability, or the challenges they’ve faced. We are committed to creating equitable pathways to opportunity by intentionally supporting youth who have experienced trauma, grief, or systemic barriers.

Through programs like Resilience — which provides scholarships, mentorship, and mental health support to children who have lost a parent to suicide — we actively work to ensure that support is not only available, but accessible to those who need it most.

Inspired by Ben Hogan’s story of perseverance, we embrace equity as both a principle and a practice — shaping programs that honor each young person’s full humanity, and empower them to build a future defined not by circumstance, but by strength and potential.
