$8,000 Goal

For more than 30 years, Beckles Dancing Company (BDC) has been an active and vital presence in the Dallas arts community, making lasting contributions as both a performing company and a cultural resource. Based at the South Dallas Cultural Center (SDCC), BDC has created and presented critically recognized works that have been featured in local publications and celebrated alongside other leading artists and companies in Dallas.

The current company is a dynamic ensemble of dancers ranging in age from 23 to 53. This unique intergenerational blend has become one of BDC’s strengths, weaving together diverse experiences and perspectives into powerful performances.

Over the past year, BDC has presented live performances at signature events including the South Dallas Dance Festival, Shades of Black for Black History Month, Dance Planet with the Dance Council of North Texas, and our Thirtieth Anniversary Gala and Celebration.

In addition to performances, BDC remains committed to education and community access. We provide free youth classesin modern, jazz, and African dance for ages 5–10 every Wednesday, as well as free ballet and modern dance classes (in-person and via Zoom) for ages 11+ every Wednesday and Friday. These programs ensure that dance remains accessible, empowering, and enriching for individuals and families across South Dallas.
