$50,000 Goal

As a not-for-profit organization, BTLCF aims to develop and enhance the lives of young men living in Fort Worth and the surrounding communities. Our programs serve as a direct response to the need for positive role models that provide positive support to those young men. Our overarching goal is to offer life-enriching programs and seminars focused on:

  1. Academic Success
  2. Community Service
  3. Personal Growth
  4. Professional Development
  5. Economic Empowerment
  6. Health and Wellness
  7. Value of Giving Back

BTLCF's cornerstone program is the Alpha Academy program, which is a male mentorship program for students in the 5th through 12th grades living in Fort Worth or the surrounding communities. Alpha Academy provides a safe and nurturing environment for young men to learn life skills, develop interpersonal and communication skills, and a path to achieving academic success. Alpha Academy is driven by seven core principles: Leadership, Brotherhood, Knowledge, Technology, Financial Stewardship, Service, Career Development. We believe that each one of these principles is essential to the development and maturity of young men. To that end, Alpha Academy partners with professionals and organizations across Dallas/Fort Worth to provide an enhanced educational for each principle. Alpha Academy is held on the third Saturday of each month during the school year, with special outings to cultural and educational events.

In addition to the Alpha Academy, young men in the 11th and 12th grades are invited to participate in the Alpha Academy Beautillion program. The Beautillion is a formal event in the Spring of each year where the you men, who are referred to as Beaux, are presented to society and awarded scholarships based on their scholastic achievements and program accomplishments. In the year leading up to the event, the Beaux participate in various activities that focus on college readiness, to include: filling out college applications, applying for grants, scholarships and other financial aid, and developing strong study habits which are essential to college success. The Beaux are also prepped for society through programs that focus proper etiquette and networking. The Beautillion program is open to both juniors and high school seniors, however only the seniors are presented at the formal event. It is our hope that the juniors will take their place in the following class having gained even more knowledge and fellowship through two years of participation.
