Since 1977, appreciated donors have given our foundation more than $80 million to help people live well. Because Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Irving covers the Foundation's operating expenses, 100 percent of every donation directly benefits patients.
Baylor Scott & White Irving Foundation grants all funds raised to help two nonprofits currently:
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Irving is the community's only nonprofit, safety-net hospital. Donors' gifts are often the only funding available for new equipment, programs and staff continuing education, since hospital revenues are very limited after operating expenses and the costs of providing free or discounted care.
Baylor Scott & White - Irving Community Clinic is a medical home for thousands of uninsured residents of the DFW mid-cities. Not only can patients there find great medical care to stay well, but they also receive access to free and low-cost medicines and social services.
How can you help today?
As of September 2023, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that 16.6% of Texans, or roughly 4.9 million people, are uninsured, making Texas the state with the highest percentage of uninsured people in the country. Your gift can help meet one of our community's greatest needs in a significant way. When Clinic patients are financially able, they are asked for a $10 copay to help cover the costs of providing services to individuals who are uninsured. But all patients are served regardless of their ability to pay. With your help last year, we were able to provide 552 clinic-visit fees, at $10 a piece, so that no patient was turned away. Can you help us provide even more help to those who are uninsured this year?
Key achievements since July 2024 - July 2025:
- 6,168 patient encounters
- 107 children served
- 4,758 behavioral health encounters
- 495 mammograms
Our North Texas Giving Day goal in 2025 will help cover the clinic-visit fees for 800 individual appointments, a child or a parent, so they can focus on staying well.
