Founded in 1914, the Art Club of McKinney is Texas’s oldest and largest art organization—and still 100 percent volunteer‑powered. Our 11‑member board and 12 committee chairs logged more than 3,000 volunteer hours last year alone, fueling a calendar that has grown from just a handful of programs to 20 + events annually.
In the past two years we have doubled our membership from roughly 80 to 150, expanded our reach to audiences in 44 + ZIP codes, and increased community partnerships from 4 to more than 20. Highlights include art exhibitions, pop‑up shows, and the signature Art Meets Poetry art and poetry collaboration, as well as a variety of workshops in everything from painting to textile up‑cycling, our popular High School Student Art Show, and mentorships and internships for emerging creatives.
All of this impact is funded through grants, individual gifts, sponsorships, and in‑kind support. Donations cover honoraria for guest speakers, supplies that keep workshops affordable or free, and the day‑to‑day operational and marketing costs that sustain our fast‑growing schedule. Most important, every contribution moves us closer to our long‑term vision, a space of our own—a permanent headquarters with studios, gallery space, classrooms, and fully accessible facilities.
With careful stewardship of every dollar, the Art Club of McKinney continues to nurture creativity, cultivate community, and champion the visual arts across North Texas. Your support—large or small—helps us deepen that mission and secure a lasting home for the arts in McKinney. Donate today and paint an even brighter future with us. 🎨
