Our Scholarships say THANK YOU to our nation's military families

by helping them achieve their educational dreams.

About Us

The Army Scholarship Foundation is in need of funds for scholarships for the family members of those who are currently serving or have served our great nation honorably.

There are other organizations that fund scholarships to military children, but ASF is exclusively eligible to families associated with the US Army (which represents more than 1/3 of all active-duty military personnel), is one of the few that makes scholarships accessible to spouses, allows for students to apply beyond their first year of school and to receive a scholarship more than once, allows funds to be used for career/technical colleges, and it does not require that the soldier be wounded or killed in action for the family member to apply.

Our US Army soldiers undertake dangerous duty and family hardship for modest wages. and in many ways Army family members are called upon to serve, too. Soldiers are eligible for funds through the GI Bill, but military family members are not. For Army families, the challenges of raising and educating their children are far beyond those faced by most Americans. This is the reason the work of the Army Scholarship Foundation is so important to our soldiers and their families.

The need is great and the Army Scholarship Foundation is only able to make awards to fewer than 50% of deserving applicants due to lack of funds. The number of applications increases every year which is evidence of the financial challenges faced by army families. Please help us help them.

Giving Activity

Mission

The mission of the Foundation is to provide college scholarships to the sons and daughters of those who have served our nation honorably as soldiers in the United States Army and to provide college scholarships to spouses of enlisted soldiers serving on active duty in the United States Army.

Needs

Every year we receive more applications from qualified and deserving military family members, so we are always in need of additional funds in the hope of providing an academic scholarship to every worthy applicant. Furthermore, during our summer application and grant cycle, we can always use volunteers to assist in reviewing applications and helping prepare our award notifications. We also endeavor to write a note of thanks to every soldier family member of our applicants each year and are always looking for volunteer groups to help with this task.

Equity Statement

The Army Scholarship Foundation provides academic scholarships to our US military family members regardless of race, creed, color, gender, or sexual or religions orientation.
