$25,000 Goal

Since 2001, Arlington Urban Ministries (AUM) has utilized volunteers from the community to support our neediest residents. Our mission is to provide rent, utility assistance, and food support to families and individuals in urgent need. While our primary goal remains meeting the most basic needs of people in crisis, over the years we have expanded our programs to support families during the crucial transition from crisis to stability.

Our Programs:

Utility Assistance:
Providing utility assistance to families facing cutoff. This program helps families experiencing a financial crisis keep their lights, water, and gas connected. Many times, this assistance frees up money that can be used to help families pay their rent and meet other essential needs.

Rental Assistance Program:
AUM provides rental financial assistance to selected clients who are on the verge of eviction. Supportive/resource case management, financial guidance, and educational and employment resources are all part of this successful program, helping families move from immediate crisis toward long-term stability.

Love Your Neighbor:
AUM provides food, hygiene items, household necessities, and seasonal support to the families we assist. These basic necessities help stretch limited household budgets and provide dignity and relief during difficult times.

Life Skills, Financial Literacy & Ready2Rise:
AUM provides life skills and financial literacy education to help clients build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to achieve greater financial stability. Classes cover topics such as budgeting, money management, goal setting, and other practical skills that help families strengthen their financial foundation and reduce the likelihood of future crises. Through Ready2Rise, AUM also provides job support and employment-focused resources to help clients identify opportunities, strengthen their job-readiness skills, and move toward increased income and long-term self-sufficiency.

Nu2U Resale Store:
AUM operates a popular, quality thrift and consignment store in Arlington offering gently used clothing, furniture, and household items. Clients receive vouchers for clothing and household necessities at Nu2U, while the community at large shops for great bargains. Proceeds from donated goods at the store directly support AUM’s programs and services.
