Through building healthy families, Anthem Strong Families addresses myriad social ills such as fatherlessness, generational poverty, joblessness, incarceration and health outcomes for under resourced communities. The organization is connecting action with resources to change lives, provide pathways to employment, decrease the numbers of single-parent households, increase the involvement of dads in the lives of their children and provide data-driven outcomes to improve statistics in Dallas County. Every social ill in our society has a direct link to broken families. At Anthem Strong Families we know, and data supports that strong families create strong communities. We use an award-winning 90-day curriculum followed by a year of robust case-management, mentoring and family support to assist men and women to move from a survival mentality and poverty mindset to one of achievement and success.

Our Needs

Anthem's TYRO Champion Dads Program is an award-winning, evidenced-based initiative designed to improve family functioning, strengthen father-child relationships and increase opportunities for employment and economic stability for under-resourced men and women. We are in need of dollars for stipends and scholarships for men who desire to transform their lives and become champions for their families. Additionally, funding is required for the Anthem youth component which addresses teen pregnancy by providing evidence-based abstinence and pregnancy education. Our goal is to serve more than 9,000 youth over a three-year period. And, our Pathways program for youth and young adults interested in careers in the healthcare industry is in need of funds to provide on-the-job-training and emergency childcare and transportation.

Anthem Strong Families strives to be the champion for our community by educating, equipping, and empowering men, women and youth to be the champion for their life, their marriage, their children and their family.

We are in need of an additional $200,000.00 to service under resourced youth. Funding will be used to provide support to 30 youth to prepare for leadership, train for specialized skills in coding and teach how to prepare for the future with integrity, time management skills, an understanding of honor and responsibility.

We Celebrate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. They're more than just words for us. They are the hard-and-fast principles guiding how we provide tools to create strong families who, collectively, create a vibrant economy, productive learning environment and socially energized community. Our goal is to break the cycle of generational poverty and enable individuals to embrace their purpose who, in return, transform the community by joyfully pouring their gift back into it. To attain this goal, we cultivate teams and leaders that represent our community. Anthem Strong Families celebrates differences, multiple approaches, and points of view and this can only be done when we reflect our rich multicultural following. To reinforce its beliefs, Anthem Strong Families has been intentional in recruiting for its governance entities and staff, as its Executive Board, Advisory Board and staff more than reflect the communities it serves with diverse professionals serving at 70%, 80%, and 90% capacity, respectively.
