Altrusa DFW: Empowering Communities Through Hands-On Service
At Altrusa DFW, we know that caring people can accomplish extraordinary things when they work together. Since 2002, our dedicated members have been committed to addressing critical needs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, focusing on hunger relief and literacy initiatives among children, women, and families. Your support helps us put books into children's hands, food on family tables, and essential resources into the hands of neighbors who need them most.
Signature Projects
Holiday Hunger Projects: An annual initiative collecting thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items to combat hunger in our community, plus providing holiday food baskets to school ancillary staff
Back-to-School Literacy Project: Providing backpacks filled with school supplies and distributing thousands of books to children in need, ensuring they start the school year equipped and inspired. In addition, we provide a hands-on literacy program at an under-resourced school to strengthen reading skills and encourage a love of learning.
Filling the Gap: Supplying essential items such as diapers, toiletries, personal hygiene products, socks, shoes, and household necessities to families facing economic hardships.
