At Altrusa DFW, we believe that small groups can make a mighty impact. Since our founding in 2002, our dedicated members have been committed to addressing critical needs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, focusing on hunger relief and literacy initiatives among children, women, and families.
Signature Projects
Holiday Hunger Projects: An annual initiative collecting thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items to combat hunger in our community, plus providing holiday meals to school ancillary staff
Back-to-School Literacy Project: Providing backpacks filled with school supplies and distributing thousands of books to children in need, ensuring they start the school year equipped and inspired.
Filling the Gap: Supplying essential items such as diapers, toiletries, and household necessities to families facing economic hardships.

Your gift helps our Filling the Gap Program when essential items like toiletries, diapers, and socks are in short supply.Your generosity helps us fight food insecurity for families in need through our Holiday Hunger program. Our Back to School Literacy Project ensures local children head back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. and puts books into the hands of both children and adults —opening doors to imagination, education, and opportunity; by promoting literacy, we help build confidence, encourage lifelong learning, and empower individuals to improve their lives and their futures.
