Grace House Community Church – North Texas Giving Day

At Grace House Community Church, we believe "Church" is so much more than Sunday morning gatherings. For us, church is about creating a place where ALL belong, ALL are nurtured, and ALL are called (and safe enough) to share their full self with God and with one another. Our ministry strategy of KNOW, GROW, SHOW and TELL includes serving through practical acts of love and care beyond the walls of the church and into our community. Our faith community is comprised of a spectrum of stories, identities and adventures with Jesus. Many are coming to God for the first time or are reconnecting with God and the Church after experiences of spiritual hurt, deep disappointment, and/or exclusion. Together we are healing, growing and serving one another and our community. Whether you call Grace House your church home or not, we invite you to join us in creating a world where ALL Means ALL by giving this North Texas Giving Day.

Grace House Community Church meets in a building beautifully located within walking distance of some of McKinney, Texas’ identified areas of need. Rather than replicating ministry, we desire to collaborate with vetted ministries and non-profits already doing great work. As such, our biggest resource to offer is space. However, our building was built in the mid 1960’s and needs substantial repair to offer a safe, welcoming and comfortable space for those offering services as well as those receiving them. While there is much to do, we are starting in five strategic initiatives that will continue our efforts to extend God’s love into our community.

  1. Community Resource Room
    • This room will serve as a drop-off, processing and distribution location for donated food, toiletries and clothing items intended for those community neighbors we serve in our “hotel ministry” and our unhoused neighbors. As a community resource room, multiple non-profits will be able to access and store their program’s specific items as well as pull from shared resources as the needs arise.
  2. Family Ministry & Sensory Friendly Space
    • We are desiring to create a sensory friendly space within our building that will serve our families with young ones, or anyone needing a quiet place, during weekend services as well as neighbors and partners using our building throughout the week.
  3. Collaborative Flex Space with an attached Bathroom
    • The space serves as a welcoming environment where volunteer counselors, mental health providers, and community chaplains can connect with neighbors in need. It also hosts volunteer-led classes focused on financial literacy and life skills, and provides a conference or meeting area for neighboring nonprofits that require a physical location to gather.
  4. Kitchen Remodel
    • We are revitalizing our long-unused commercial kitchen to transform it into an energy-efficient, modern resource for both the community and our church family. This updated space will also support partner nonprofits by offering a dedicated area to prepare, cook, and serve meals to those in need.
  5. Marketing and resources directly related to our fully inclusive commitment
    • One thing that makes us unique amongst the 80+ other McKinney churches is that we are the only nondenominational expression of the Church that is open and affirming of our LGBTQIA+ siblings. As a nondenominational church, we receive no financial support from a larger denomination or sending church—our mission is funded entirely by our community. Your support will help us create a dedicated safe space within our building for LGBTQIA+ individuals, offering peer support, ally training, and resources for families. It will also fund social marketing efforts that clearly communicate our commitment to being a place where queer people of faith can fully belong and thrive.

Having been blessed with the brick and mortar space, our desire is to steward it to the good of ALL and to the glory of God. There is so much to be done, but we must start somewhere. We believe these initiatives are our next strategic steps. Every dollar you give helps us open our doors wider to serve, support, and love our ALL in tangible and meaningful ways.

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in North Texas.

Thank you for considering.

Mission

We exist to help ALL people experience the extravagant love of Jesus Christ that makes all things new.

Needs

We are working to provide essential resources, safe gathering spaces, and practical support for our neighbors through partnering with local non-profits. This includes food and clothing distribution, family- and sensory-friendly spaces, counseling and education areas, and a renovated community kitchen for shared use. Each initiative opens our doors wider to serve and love our community and church family in tangible ways.

Equity Statement

God made ALL. God loves ALL. God wants a relationship with ALL. God sent his son Jesus Christ to make that possible for ALL.
