Together, We’re Writing the Library’s Next Chapter

The Allen Public Library is more than a building—it is a place where our community comes together to learn, connect, and grow.

After an extensive renovation and reopening in December 2025, the newly transformed Library is once again serving as a vibrant gathering place for Allen residents of all ages. The impact is already being seen throughout our community. Since reopening, more than 200,000 visitors have walked through the Library’s doors, with more than 865,000 items in circulation and over 27,000 community members participating in the many programs and events offered by the Library.

The Allen Library Endowment Fund (ALEF) exists to ensure our Library continues to thrive—not just today, but for generations to come. Through the generosity of our community, ALEF provides support for Library projects, programs, equipment, special initiatives, and future enhancements that enrich the experience for everyone who visits.

This North Texas Giving Day, ALEF is focused on writing the Library’s next chapter. While the recent renovation transformed many areas of the Library, there are still opportunities ahead—including supporting the future refurbishment of the Library’s 296-seat auditorium, a treasured space that will continue bringing our community together through educational programs, performances, author events, and special gatherings.

Our goal for North Texas Giving Day is to raise $20,000 to strengthen the Allen Library Endowment Fund and help ensure ALEF can continue providing meaningful support for the Library’s future. Every gift helps build a stronger foundation for the programs, spaces, and opportunities that make our Library such an important part of Allen.

ALEF has secured $6,250 in matching funds from nine generous Matching Gift Partners. Because these matching gifts are being offered concurrently, your donation has the potential to make an incredible impact. A $100 gift can unlock up to $900 in matching funds—turning your $100 donation into as much as $1,000 for ALEF and the Allen Public Library.
