Adopt My Heart

We hope you can help us continue on our mission. Since Adopt My Heart began in 2016, 609 heartworm positive dogs have been adopted under our sponsorship and over $465,000 in vet bills have been sponsored!! Much of this assistance has come from you through North Texas Giving Day.

Heartworm positive dogs are at a huge disadvantage since heartworms can cost over $2000 to treat. This is a lot to ask of a new adopter. Adopt My Heart gives these dogs a chance by sponsoring their heartworm treatment through our amazing partner vets, giving these dogs the chance they deserve for a family of their own.

Thanks to your continued support, every heartworm positive dog at Collin County Animal Services has been sponsored for treatment since we began in 2016. We've also assisted with special medical care for dogs up for adoption at Collin County Animal Services as well as dogs with special needs immediately after being adopted. Our 2025 special medical sponsorships have included, among others, life saving emergency care for severe pneumonia for Senna the rottie, and parvo treatment for 2 puppies after adoption.
