Abiding Fathers

A nonprofit organization

Abiding Fathers is the world's leading Ministry on biblical fatherhood. We provide content, community and encouragement for men to honestly and courageously pursue authentic fatherhood. Our purpose is to equip dads of all ages with the message of biblical fatherhood. Our resources and materials teach men the biblical attributes of an abiding father and help dads understand what it means to be an example of Christ in their homes. Abiding Fathers’ content equips fathers to be servant leaders to their spouses and children, which can impact families for generations.

Fatherlessness is the most devastating trend of this generation. Overwhelmingly, the increasing rates of youth suicides, youth homelessness, high school dropouts, and debilitating behavioral struggles among children are all statistically linked to the absence of fathers. Furthermore, society has abandoned fathers, claiming that their presence in the family is irrelevant, and even unnecessary. At Abiding Fathers, we are redeeming fatherhood and reclaiming families in the process! We are restoring the dignity and integrity of the fatherhood role, and equipping a new generation of dads to lead and love their children in a transformative way.

So often, men don’t fully understand what it means to be a father. We must first understand the fatherhood role in order to fulfill it passionately and purposefully. The Abiding Fathers resources have been developed through many years of parenting, and also through building relationships with countless fathers throughout North Texas and beyond. We want to compassionately challenge fathers as we help them understand what fatherhood means from a biblical perspective. Ultimately, we want men to model the love of Jesus to their children, and we provide the tools to help them accomplish this.

Across the Dallas Metroplex, we lead monthly “Fathers Forums” and weekly “Dad Talks”, both accessible to the public and available on our website. Fathers Forums are typically breakfast or lunch meetings of 20 to 30 men who gather for a testimony by a father relating to family and fatherhood. Dad Talks are bible studies, where men discuss the broad and critical challenges of being a father in today's culture. Abiding Fathers’ resources introduce men to the Bible's perspective of fatherhood, and provide tools, resources, community, and lots of encouragement and support. Abiding Fathers also pursues discipleship relationships in the North Texas homeless community, Bonton Farms, Men of Nehemiah, local prisons, and more.

The Need

The clearest picture of Jesus in the home is a man who has a right understanding of his divinely appointed authority and purpose. Abiding Fathers provides training and support for fathers, helping them understand what it means to shepherd their children's hearts and lead their families in the way that God intended. The Bible illustrates how our relationship with our Heavenly Father should be reflected in a father’s relationship to his children. Abiding Fathers' training resources equip men to know the true heart of a father.

WE NEED FUNDS to expand our content's reach, and to develop new media-based products for social media and other online platforms. PLEASE JOIN US as we equip and encourage dads across North Texas and beyond!

Mission

Abiding Fathers is a relational, generational, and international ministry that encourages, equips, and engages men to fulfill their role as leaders and fathers through interactive weekend workshops, innovative monthly events, and inspiring biblical resources. Our purpose is to equip fathers of all ages with the message of biblical fatherhood. Our materials show men the biblical attributes of an abiding father and help dads across multiple cultures understand their God-given authority and purpose in the home. We teach men how to serve their wives and children, which can change family trajectories for generations to come. We accomplish this through workshops, prison outreach, online training, digital and print media, radio programming, and purposeful community.
