💛 Our Story: A Moment of Magic

What started with one costume and a dream has grown into a national movement of college student volunteers bringing joy, imagination, and healing to medically vulnerable children.

At A Moment of Magic, we believe in the power of presence — of showing up when it matters most. Our programs center around hospital visits, mental health programming, and creative experiences that remind children facing serious illness that they are brave, strong, and never alone.

Our Mission: Play That Sparks Healing

A Moment of Magic harnesses the power of play to spark joy, foster connection, reduce isolation and support the mental health and emotional healing for medically vulnerable children and their families.

Through a nationwide network of highly trained college student volunteers, we activate the next generation of leaders to deliver compassion, care, and meaningful connection.

Since its founding in 2014, AMoM has evolved into a national organization with 25+

chapters, 350+ hospital and NPO partners, impacting more than 150,000 children.

We bring play to kids – so they can begin to heal.

We’re proud to have a chapter right here in North Texas — at Texas Christian University — where students donate their time, energy, and hearts to bring magic to local hospitals, treatment centers, and families.

These students are not only the face of our mission; they’re the future of compassionate, trauma-informed care.

This North Texas Giving Day, we’re aiming to raise $1,000 in 24 hours to support our life-changing programs and the incredible volunteers who lead them.

• Fund hospital and care center visits for children facing cancer and other serious illnesses

• Provide mental health programming through our Express, Create, Heal initiative

• Equip local volunteers with costumes, resources, and trauma-informed training

• Deliver moments of joy and normalcy to families during the hardest days of their lives
