A Dallas County-based organization, Bridge 2 Light, (AB2L) is focused on providing human needs to communities to overcome obstacles that traditionally hindered their progress, while placing particular emphasis on disrupting the “school-to-prison pipeline system” and enabling the reintegration of the formerly incarcerated.
Since its conception in 2023, AB2L's unique understanding of direct and indirect violence, and their role in one's access to human needs, positioning within the school-to-prison pipeline, and/ or difficulty to re-enter society in a "complete manner" has inspired a networked, community- based approach to navigate through today's most complex environments. To "learn together and make "The N.E.T." - Work," AB2L has partnered with several Dallas County community-based, and local government / educational entities, such as, but not limited to, the Dallas County Juvenile Department, and Dallas Housing Authority, The Collge of Health Care Professionals, and South Oak Cliff High School.
Through intentional events, services, and programs, AB2L has assisted over 2000 people throughout Dallas County. To continue and increase addressing our stated short-term goals more efficiently:
• Decrease in recidivism
• Decrease in violence
• Increase access to employment
• Increase access to healthcare awareness
• Increase access to educational (fiscal and academic) opportunities
AB2L is setting its fund-raising goal of $50,000.
