Children on the Mend Inc. (COTM) a non-profit (501 c 3) was launched in 2000 as an intervention/prevention advocacy and mentoring agency for youth and young adults. Our board is composed of diverse backgrounds with thirty plus years of legal, criminal justice and social service backgrounds.
Today's youth and young adults are easily socially influenced, often face volatile emotions, and are more likely to act out. COTM's specialty is caring for youth and young adults, as a hub to help them overcome negative behavior by providing cognitive-behavioral skills to enhance better decision making, improve their self-esteem, and coping with stress. Over the years our community outreach includes in-school and after school mentoring, Christmas Angel Tree, Back-to-School fairs, community service projects, field trips to local professional games (Mavericks and Big 3) and a expanded effort to raise public health awareness by hosting FREE community health fairs. Helping youth and young adults achieve meaningful lives and positive traits.

Children on the Mend, Inc., (COTM) is committed to assisting, and mending the lives of youth and young adults, in need of a solid foundation for success. The diversity of our membership provides as a change agent which helps reduce school dropouts, criminal activities, runaways, substance, mental health challenges and ongoing disparities within the community. We believe that nonprofits that prioritize engaging diverse prespectives and evolve to be inclusive, behave equitably and can have profound impacts on society.
For the reason above, COTM, is committed to the transforming of lives. This need remains vital to the success of our youth/young adults of the future. Our efforts will be tireless, and we will not stop. We know this work is ongoing, urgent and we are committed to the cause.
