The 3to1 Foundation is committed to providing free financial education to the community. Financial education is fundamental to empowering people to meet their goals.
In 2024 we set our 4th consecutive annual programming record by conducting 134 seminars impacting over 3,500 people. We are striving to make it 5 years in a row and this year we have already completed 119 events and have helped over 3,500 people learn more about their finances. We partner with 43 community groups, including high schools, elementary schools, colleges, and nonprofit organizations to provide them free financial education. We help people learn through our webinars/seminars, 3to1 University (our online videos), and our awesome 'Give, Save, Spend with the 3 Little Pigs' program for elementary school students.
Hannah Dunn, a college student, told us that "I am grateful that I found this organization early on my financial journey. The resources and knowledge that I have gained from the 3to1 Foundation has given me the power and the confidence to make more informed decisions as I continue to grow."
Some of our key community partners include:
- Nonprofits such as Brother Bills Helping Hand, The Samaritan Inn, Dallas Housing Authority, Frisco Family Services, Project Transformation, Readers 2 Leaders, Reading Partners, Melody of Hope, Helping Hands for Single Moms, and Christian Community Action.
- Colleges, including University of North Texas in Denton, Paul Quinn College, and Collin College
- High Schools in Dallas ISD and Uplift Education, including Marvin E. Robinson School of Business and Management, Young Women's STEAM Academy, Townview School of Public Health, Uplift Heights, Uplift Grand, Uplift Wisdom, Uplift Luna, Uplift Summit, and Uplift Atlas.
Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation annually grants multiple $2,000 scholarships and has awarded over $210,000 since 2016. We are positively affecting people's lives!
We are honored to be recognized in 2024 by D CEO magazine as the winner of the Leadership Excellence Award for micro nonprofits. In addition, Brendren Austin, board member and volunteer, was a finalist for volunteer of the year in 2024.
Cain Watters and Associates has pledged to match up to 10,000 dollars raised during North Texas Giving Day.
Our Needs
Our needs consist of funding to support our Give, Save, Spend with the 3 Little Pigs Program, our personal finance seminars with high school students, our online 3to1 University Videos, and our college scholarship program.
GIVE, SAVE, SPEND WITH THE 3 LITTLE PIGS
In this program, we read the book Give, Save, Spend with the 3 Little Pigs out loud to the students and guide them through activities about needs vs. wants, giving, saving, spending, and budgeting. Then we provide them with a certificate of completion and a copy of the book to take home.

Our educational seminars and webinars offer an interactive curriculum, designed and taught by experienced Cain Watters & Associates financial planners. Seminar topics include:
-How Money Grows, Debt Management, Budgeting, Investments, Employee Benefits, How to Pay for College, Retirement Planning, Insurance, and Estate Planning
